POLISH-STYLE MARDI GRAS AT SLEDZ

The 2010 Sledz once again took place at La Villa in Chicago, Illinois, under the chairmanship of Mark Orwat, Executive Vice President.

Held the evening before Ash Wednesday on what is known as Fat Tuesday, the dinner offered a selection of three different entrees, including fish, chicken and veal. And, of course, there were plenty of pączki.

Coming only two weeks after the Inaugural Ball and the night before the February Meeting, the attendance was lower than usual, but those in attendance enjoyed the event as much as ever.

The carnival-style "pageant," complete with appropriate costumes was as much fun as ever and the crowd enjoyed the crowning of our new St. Joseph, Mark Orwat, who will act as chaplain for the year.

Contemporary, continental and polka music rounded out the night.
