Matuszczak, Frank Czaja and Chairman Rocky Polit make a last minute
review of the program for the Family and Friends Picnic on August 18,
2002.

Sawa mans the grill, as Stan Ross awaits a taste of the professionally
prepared food that was served at the picnic.

A
magician (right) amazes the crowd with a rope trick, apparent from the
expression on the face of President Richard Ciesla (second from right).

Rocky
Polit, Picnic Chairman, introduces entertainers Pavel and Joe to the
crowd. Polit produced his own brand magic by organizing an exciting
event.
|
Pavel,
who comes to the U.S. from the Czech Republic, demonstrates his ability
to walk on broken glass without sustaining any injury.

Occupying
the "Ladies Table" are (l. to r.) Wanda Kalin, Maria Ciesla,
Shirley Dudzinski and Gen Kobelinski. With the exception of Maria, wife
of the President, they are widows of deceased Chicago Society members.
|
There
are not many picnics that can boast entertainment by a 19-piece
orchestra, but then not every organization is the Chicago Society. The
New Wave Orchestra provided a fabulous big band sound.
