MEETING OF NOVEMBER, 2009

A Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings was enjoyed at the November meeting at White Eagle Banquets in Niles, Illinois. Brother President Charles Komosa delivered holiday greetings.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Brother Romuald Matuszczak, a Marine who served in World War II and was leaving early the next morning as a participant in the Honor Flight Chicago to Washington, D.C., with a group of other veterans.

Brother Jerome Kujawa was inducted into membership by Personnel Director John Wojciechowski. Brother Frank Gondela led the traditional singing of "Sto Lat" ["May You Live a Hundred Years"], after which the new member was the recipient of a champagne toast.

Officers were elected for 2010 and Brother Conrad Miczko announced plans for the Inaugural Ball at Cafe La Cave on January 30.

Twenty turkeys were won in the annual raffle. Amazingly, Brother Chuck Cwiakala won three of the birds, but realizing that he already had a large one at home, he graciously gave his winnings to other members.
