MEETING OF MAY, 2009

The Consul General of Poland in Chicago, Zygmunt Matynia, was the speaker at the May meeting. He spoke about the work of the consulate, the composition of the Polish system of government and the Roundtable Discussions that ultimately led to Poland's freedom from the communists.

A new member, Tomek Startek, was initiated in a ceremony conducted by Personnel Director John Wojciechowski and saluted by the traditional "Sto Lat" directed by Frank Gondela.

A buffet dinner was catered by Stuart Sawa of Sawa's Old Warsaw restaurant.
