MEETING OF MAY, 2008

The May, 2008, meeting was held at Polonia Banquets on Archer Avenue on Chicago's South Side. A dinner of mushroom soup, roast chicken, kopitka, kielbasa, potato and kapusta, plus cakes and kolaczki, was served.

The speaker was John Textor of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, who spoke about his book "Phoenix: The Fateful Journey." He described the trials and tribulations of emigrants from Europe to Canada and the United States. He also offered a booklet that told the facts about the Polish cavalry.

An orderly business meeting left time for some of the members to make a brief stop at a local Polish nightclub.
