The March Meeting will feature a lecture by
Bogdan Pukszta, leader of the Polish American Chamber of Commerce (PACC),
a not-for-profit organization incorporated in the State of Illinois.
He was assisted by the the Chamber's Vice President. As a voice of
Polish American businessmen and women, the PACC is dedicated to
serving the best interests of its members through education on
current trends and facilitating commercial contacts. Its goals are
similar to those of the Chicago Society itself.
Scholarship grants were presented by new
Scholarship Committee chairman Robert Groszek on behalf of Kenneth
Gill, chairman for 2007. One of the recipients was studying in
Poland and another was out-of-state, so their awards were received
by their fathers, Marian Skwaski and Wojtek Putz. Nicholas Poplawski,
studying at Georgetown in Washington, D.C., was present to
personally accept his scholarship.
The site of the March meeting was Lone Tree Manor
in Niles, Illinois, where the membership enjoyed a family style
dinner.
