Over 70 children who are from single-parent homes or who might not have a Christmas as merry as others where treated to a party by the Chicago Society on December 15, 2007. It was the 44th year that our Brother, Ro Matuszczak, had chaired the event.

The children and families are chosen with the cooperation of the Polish American Association, which was founded as the Polish Welfare Association in the 1920s.

The party started with hot dogs, potato chips, cookies, milk and soda. The refreshments were followed by the singing of kolędy and a magic show by Blake, a highly capable 14-year-old magician who had been featured on Chicago TV. Finally, the big moment occurred when Santa Claus arrived and distributed presents to the children. Blake added to the festivities by making balloon toys in a variety of shapes.
