2008 PRE-PARADE BRUNCH AND
POLISH CONSTITUTION DAY PARADE
The 2008 Pre-Parade Brunch, sponsored annually by the Chicago
Society, attracted a record number of
guests. It was attended by numerous Polonia and civic
leaders, as well as the Consul General of Poland in Chicago and
Poland's Secretary of State. The
invocation was delivered by the Most Rev. Thomas Paprocki, Auxiliary
Bishop of Chicago.
Romuald E. Matuszczak has been the Chairman of this event for 30
years. He was assisted by his wife, Chris, Social Activities
Director Mark Hrycko and President T. Ron Jasinski-Herbert.
Complimentary Bloody Marys and Screwdrivers were provided by
Sobieski Vodka under the supervision of Mark Orwat.
Under the chairmanship of Clubhouse Director Frank Czaja, the
Chicago Society entered an attractive float in the parade featuring
the music of Stas Bulanda & the Old School Review. It was preceded
by members carrying our official banner.
Following the brunch and parade, a few indefatigable members
attended a VIP Reception at the "Poland in he Park" festival.
